Enter the IP address, user name, password you set before. Mesh commander will connect to the target computer. Once connected mesh commander acts akin to what a idrac is to a dell server. You can even remote into the computer outside of the operating system. When you remote into the target computer, it does not prompt the user to connect. The user will see a red box around the entire screen from what I remember.

Using mesh commander you can get into the bios and make changes, reboot the computer, etc. Pretty much parallel and idrac but for a user workstation computer. So, never mind! Note that vPro may or may not have certain features like live screen view.

Not all implementations get all the things. You may only get remote power cycle, or serial number tracking or If you have a large group of homogeneous computers, it's likely worth figuring out what you've got, but in my case the variation made it not worthwhile. I'll see if I can't find the exact document I used to set it up.

The skinny of my setup is this:. Net 4. The install didn't have any gotchas IIRC, but you do need to be ready to use the proper, externally facing FQDN you will be using to enroll your endpoints. Even better if you already have a 3rd party Cert ready to go. I am still running my server without a Cert so I have to manually install the EMA client on each machine.

In fact, this document I think covers everything I did in better detail but it is a heady read. I'm not sure what the differences are in our deployments, but I can get full desktop, including bios-level screenshare and KVM going regardless of the network my endpoints are on.

I do not use a Cert, but my EMA server is public available online and the endpoints are configured to communicate with it via a publicly addressable DNS name. I had use vPro in the past for KVM and used some stand alone utility. Was kind of like "meh; teamviewer is just easier and doesn't require hardware" so didn't really have an urg to go back to vPro. Then I found about about EMA. Oh EMA. Once it set up, it is so simple to connect and manage your vPro devices.

If you have a cert you can toss on set up, you can do some userless access; though even without, kvm access is pretty easy. If EMA is not your thing, Spiceworks local inventory install did have some plug-ins, but I have not used those in so long. Millage may vary. Very interesting! It's a modularized approach to managing systems that is supported by Intel.

I know that's very general, but I've been having a relatively hard time finding any IT related job that isn't basic help desk level one things.

I work in a fairly high level position doing mostly EDI and Salesforce maintenance. I am very willing to work h Do you guys think that the definition of "Entry Level" has been lost to these recruiters? I mean I have seen some job postings asking for crazy requirements and I was under the impression that entry-level was a job for people with little to no experience Today I get to announce the new Spiceworks virtual community, coming to our community soon.

The hallway will be lined with doors, each corresponding to the communi Your daily dose of tech news, in brief. You need to hear this. Easy to install as a silent installer and run in the background of the computer. Works perfect as a backup software to our primary remoting tool. File transfer is buggy at best and there is not a drag and drop software either. Brian from ALF. Have not needed to use support, software is easy to implement. Allows file transfers both ways, shows dual monitors. Industry: Consumer Goods. We have a lot of remote users that use Teams and Skype. Those are great for easy problems, but when issues need admin privileges, you need something else.

We tried a lot of different ones before we made a decision. Splashtop SOS gives all the bells and whistles and more at a great price. The three big things we need are, admin privileges, file transfer, and multiple monitors. This gives us those items and more. Not only does it allow you to switch between monitors, you can drag the multiple monitors across your screens to see it the way the user on the other end sees them as well. It has all of the features of some of the more expensive competitors, but at a much lower price.

It is very easy to use and deploy. As of right now there is not really anything not to like about this software. Splashtop SOS was cheaper than both for what you get for one thing. Heidi from Cambridge Computer. We use this to troubleshoot end-users' laptops when they are working remotely. Great tool for IT remote access for end-user support. Works like Logmein Rescue but faster and ultimately much cheaper.

There isn't much to dislike about this tool. It is a lightweight remote access tool that works as advertised. No complaints. Milo from TeleSage, Inc. We use Splashtop Business and Splashtop SOS daily for work and for supporting our production servers and those of our software customers. File transfer is not drag and drop - you need to click a file-transfer button and then browse to your files. Drew from Industrial Appraisal Company. Industry: Insurance. Simple to use, easy to direct someone to the site to get a download, or email them a link. Occasionally on a bad connection, it will freeze up, but that is hardly the fault of the software. Splashtop had the same features at a much lower price and it is so easy to get set up.

John from Lorens Tech Solutions. I called On-Demand support when I had some initial questions about the Tool and these were quickly addressed in detail. They even followed up to make sure that I was satisfied and all my issues were resolved. Very easy to use, has all the features that I need to remotely access and address other computers.

Great for providing support to clients when you need to see what is happening on their computers.

Great Value. I first received a free one year trial version when attending SpiceWorld in and saw the value when i used it to support phones. So the next year purchased a license. Price and it works on phones Easy to talk end users through agent install. I do not need this type of product often because all new clients get my remote access tool installed but added feature of connecting to a phone made me switch.

Shon from Smart Fill. Industry: Wholesale. The exe is simple to deploy, just copy it to the public documents folder on a Windows machine and put a shortcut to it in the public desktop folder. Easy access for any user. Ryan from National Salvage and Service Corp. Ease of use is great. Love it's integration with Atera.

I like having the ability to connect to remote workstations via Atera or as a standalone app using Splashtop Business. It just works and I have had no issue whatsoever with it. It would be great if there was a way to be able to see two screens at once if the user is running multiple monitors. It came integrated with our MDM and we couldn't be happier with it!

Teamviewer is very picky about what version both computers are running. They also hit you up with junk popup windows when installing. Industry: Health, Wellness and Fitness. David from Dyvad. Brad from RoadWarrior Software. Splashtop is so easy for our non-tech customer to set up. We can access their computers to install our software and give them training without needing to talk them through installation. Occasionally we need to bring on a service rep to help diagnose problems. Would be nice if more than one of us to be able to use the same license at the same time on the same remote computer.

Joined May 1, Messages 2. Greetings, I have an amazon cloud server running server os and have been using a splashtop business account which provides a single remote user access to it multiple users can only share a session and cannot have their own unless you go to enterprise which requires additional infrastructure.

I now have a requirement to have more than 1 user remoting into the machine and working in 5 seperate windows users sessions. I am wondering if someone can reccommend a safe and secure software solution that will not break the bank. I would love to find something simple similar to logmein, splashtop, gotomypc etc. In previous situations where more than 1 users is required to login I would simply just open rdp access in aws firewall to the end user static ips to give end users access via RDP, however in this case they need to be able to access it from multiple locations which have dynamic internet ips.

I am looking for something safe, simple and inexpensive. I am familiar with vpn solutions like neorouter, hamachi from years ago but not sure how they stack up with regards to security when compared to splashtop pro, logmein pro etc. It seems to involve providing a certificate to end users which I am not sure I am comfortable with.

My current Splashtop solution has several "levels of authentication" in comparison. A pop-up window will prompt the initiating device's user to allow this action. For example, if a user installs Splashtop and tries to login with the account I provide them I first get an email saying they are trying to login from XXXX PC and "do I authenticate it". With the AWS certificate and a generic vpn client it seems they could just copy it around to whatever devices they want and be connecting and unless I am monitoring a VPN console like a hawk I wouldnt really know what is going on..

I probably got at least part of that wrong. As Seen On. Welcome to Tech Support Guy! Latest posts W. What is this? All Other Software. Hacking source code? Android Mobile Devices. Random Discussion. Windows 7. M Yesterday at PM. What's for Dinner?
